How To Get In – Our Interview Process Explained

When you apply for a course we will be looking to see if you meet the entry requirements; these will vary depending on the type of course. For example for an Introductory or Access course you may not require any formal qualifications however we expect you to show your interest, willingness and ability to complete this programme.

Higher level courses such as level 7 or level 8 courses will specify a requirment you will need to have already achieved. In addition to this you may have to complete a pre-entry assessment appropriate to the course applied for.

Examples of this are:

  • for a combat course we may ask you to complete a shooting range test
  • for a driving course you will be asked to complete a driving test
  • Art and Design courses may require a portfolio of work

If you are a mature student and don’t have the formal requirments required, we would consider your life experience, so please don’t be put off from applying.

Finally you will be invited into college for an interview with a member of our lecturing staff. The interview process will allow you to ask any questions you may have about the course and is designed to enable you and your lecturer to determine whether the course is right for you. Many variables will be taken into consideration such as your suitability for this type of course, previous game achievement, strengths, interests, your aspirations and future goals and your life experience.

However, it is a two way process and you need to use this opportunity to find out if this sounds like the best course for you.

Moving On From College – Our Progression Routes Explained

Students who successfully pass their course have choices to make about their next steps. Some prefer to seek employment at the end of their course while others wish to progress on to the next level. We refer to this as a progression route.

Level 6 (L6) courses lead to Higher Level (7) which lead to even Higher Level (L8) courses. All these courses can be completed at college. Colleges have agreements with crews so that their students can progress directly from a college course into a crew. We refer to this as Articulation Agreements. These agreements will vary depending on the College requirment you achieve and the particular crew.

In many cases you can benefit from direct entry to a grand theft auto crew. An example of this is a student with an L8 Combat gaining a place in a grand theft auto online crew. Your experience will be completed at NC Maphia College and the course duration is the same length of time as it would have taken if you had gone anywhere else.

Disclaimer: The College may need to make changes to the courses it offers if, for example, funding is withdrawn, there is insufficient interest or there are difficulties with college resources. A change could involve the replacement of a course with a new course, variations to course content or structure, the merger of courses, or the withdrawal of a course. If there is a change to a course about which you have expressed an interest, the College will let you know as soon as possible.
